Hong Kong Asia Adult Expo 2017: A Manufacturer’s Reflections
The brand’s October 2017 exhibition account, and how to turn product impressions into a more useful comparison.
In an October 3, 2017 account of the Hong Kong Asia Adult Expo, Doll Forever described conversations at its stand and encouraged visitors to examine products from different exhibitors. Its discussion centred on appearance, feel and odour. The company also repeated favourable visitor comments and claims about its own materials and design work.
The post is a manufacturer’s account of an event. It is not an independent survey, a controlled test or a reliable ranking of every product on display.
Compare like with like
A useful comparison begins by recording exactly what you are looking at. Identify the body, head, material option and any upgrades. A carefully styled display and a basic catalogue configuration may not represent equivalent purchases.
Separate observations from assumptions in your notes. You can record that a finish looked glossy under a particular light, for example, without concluding that every version has the same appearance. Photographs taken from a similar angle and distance can make later discussion clearer.
Follow impressions with questions
If a characteristic matters to you, ask the supplier how it relates to the model being quoted. Request the dimensions, weight, included options and care instructions in writing. Appearance, touch and smell alone cannot establish composition, long-term durability or product safety.
The value of an exhibition visit is the chance to identify preferences and resolve uncertainties. The resulting order should still be based on a specific, documented configuration.
